Model sues jewelry company for suggestive ad

A model has filed a 5 million lawsuit against a jewelry company, claiming that the video advertisement she starred in destroyed her wholesome image by imaging her in a pornographic way. The case was filed last Monday in Manhattan’s state Supreme Court.

The Szul jewelry Internet advertisement, titles “Rock Her World” shows the women wearing almost nothing and a diamond necklace. The segment ends with the web address, Szul.com, flashing across the screen.

Jane Doe, the 37-year-old model says in court papers that she did not “consent to or authorize the use of her likeness, picture, image or name,” according to the AP.

Three quarters of the commercial had a comedic story line with the premise that an average guy can get women excited by placing a necklace on her. The women claims that she was only to sit and act excited for a few seconds while the man put on the diamond necklace on her, the lawsuit reportedly says.

Jane Doe who filed the suit is asking for $2.5 in compensatory damages and $205 million in punitive damages.
