Giants Are Awarded Their Super Bowl Rings
Friday, May 30th, 2008Waiting nearly four months with patience for this special occasion, the Giants were finally rewarded their Super Bowl rings at a ceremony held at Tiffany & Co.
Before walking into the very famous jewelry store in Manhattan to receive their rings. The football players walked down a blue carpet giving the evening a feeling of a Hollywood get-together rather than a football party.
Eli Manning, a quarterback had said, “This makes it official, but once the season starts, you’ve got to put it away.”
        Â
The ring is made of white gold and diamonds, which has a cost of $5,500.00 according to Tiffany, but an estimated value of $25,000.00. It was designed with the group effort of the Giant’s front office and four of the players.
At the ceremony, team officials got together, as well as coaches, trainers and 53 members of the squad that ruined the New England’s perfect season for Super Bowl XLI, 17-14. Gribil Wilson also made it to the ceremony flying up from Atlanta Thursday morning and Kawika Mitchell, a linebacker.
Mitchell mentions, “Winning a championship is great and all, but once you put that ring on your finger, it’s a whole other story.”
Four other people that were invited to the ceremony did not make it, these people were: Antonio Pierce, who was on his honeymoon in Hawaii, Jeremy Shokey, Reggie Torbor and Bryan Kehl.
Straham was one of the players who was planning on retiring but didn’t bring up the topic. Instead, he spoke proudly of his ring saying it, “was enough diamonds” and mentioned that he would only wear it on special occasions. When the topic of his future was actually brought up he answered, “We’re not even going there.”
“Tonight was about the past,” was what he said later in the evening.Â

These days there are girls who apply to college just to find a suitable husband and to get a useless degree. Other girls choose to go to colleges that are mainly populated by potential husbands such as, Industrial Technology or Mechanical Engineering, and shortly afterwards they drop out, simply to expand their chances in meeting a guy.
