Soon after the Supreme Court of California ruled same sex marriages to be legal, the marriage of Ellen DeGeneres and Portia De Rossi was announced.
The couple is now dealing with plans for their “dream wedding.” Part of the ceremony will be aired on the DeGeneres talk show.
DeGeneres is quoted saying, “I can’t wait to be married. I feel like it is long overdue. And I think someday people will look back on this like women not having the right to vote and segregation and anything else that seems ridiculous like we all don’t have the same right.”
The couple has been together since 2004, with anticipation for this time to come.
