Engagement Ring Found On The Hood Of A Car In Middle Of The Road

Wednesday, August 13th, 2008

As he is about to make the biggest decision of his life, 23-year old, Tyler Jones accidentally leaves the $3,000 diamond engagement ring on the hood of his girlfriend’s car. From this point the man actually goes from being extremely unlucky to exceedingly lucky when a man riding his Harley-Davidson sees a small black jewelry box on a car in middle of the road.

Tyler’s mother, Karen Jones says, “I never thought we’d see that ring again.”

Days pass as the Jones family turns their house upside-down looking for the ring until they have almost completely given up hope. As their last resort, they placed an ad in the Standard Examiner, being aware of the fact that anybody finding the ring will most probably not want to give back a diamond ring.

What the family certainly did not know was that Monte Kirk had found the ring while riding his Harley one day.

Kirk is quoted saying, “I opened the box and found a diamond ring inside. You don’t find that every day.” Kirk took the ring home to his wife, Debbie, and she said they would stay alert checking the newspaper for anyone missing a ring.

After waiting an entire week, Jones decided to go ahead and propose to Amanda Anderson anyway (with or without the original ring). Saturday afternoon Jones made the verdict to buy another ring and watch for it more carefully this time.

However, Kirk and his wife had seen the ad and were trying to reach Jones and tell him. When Kirk at last got through with Karen Jones answering to him.

“She was so happy,” Kirk said. “Her son works two jobs and was going to propose that very day.”

Kirk asked Karen to describe the ring in detail to make sure it was the right one. When he was sure it was the same ring, Kirk and his wife hopped on the Harley and met Karen Jones at a nearby store.

“He suddenly brought out the ring from behind his back, and I Just started bawling,” she said, “I asked him to follow me over to the bank to give him the ($100) reward. He wouldn’t accept the reward, though.”

Kirk said he never thought of keeping the ring.

Kirk seemed very considerate and sympathetic of the matter and stated, I know my wife would be sick if she lost her ring. There wasn’t anything else to do. It wasn’t rightfully mine. I had to find the owner.”

Later that day Anderson said, “yes” to Jones’ proposal.

Diamond Rings Are Now Being Bought Two At A Time Per Couple

Monday, August 11th, 2008

Proposing to a girl for marriage with a diamond ring on one knee has been the traditional way to tie the knot. The man goes through the most difficult period in his life on just figuring out how to pop the question to the girl, let alone how big of a rock he can afford. The woman then acts as if she is surprised even though she knew the day was coming and then begins the big scene of crying… But, it seems like this beautiful tradition will soon be replaced by the masses of gay couples that are changing the idea of how a proposal should really happen.

Heather Matarazzo, the actress who is best known for her klutzy role in The Princess Diaries and Welcome to the Dollhouse, is used as the perfect model when she had proposed to her girlfriend, Caroline Murphy, the previous week. Due to having no traditional male-female roles, they had both popped the question to each other at the same time. Lisa Jammal, Matarazzo’s publicist said, “It was so cute. First Heather proposed to Caroline, then Caroline proposed to her!”

This new idea can become a huge benefit to the diamond industry. But, other than a solitaire diamond ring there are new designs that are expected to come out. Gemstones such as rubies, emeralds, and sapphires, are suggested ideas that can be used for engagement ring designs as either an offset or a replacement for diamonds all together.

Now engagement rings are opening its doors to new looks and designs for anyone type of couple.Â

New Online Website Created Due to A $40,000 Lost Engagement Ring Which Was Found and Returned

Thursday, August 7th, 2008

While walking in the parking lot of the Tysons Corner shopping mall , Keith Stetzer of Fairfax, Virginia had stumbled upon a 3.02 carat platinum diamond engagement ring. Not thinking twice about it, the man noticed the name Mervis imprinted on it and took it straight to Mervis Diamond Importers, which is a Washington DC Jeweler in order to find the owner of the ring. The jeweler appraised the ring at over $40,000.

Keith had stated, “I’m just trying to return something somebody lost. Its not mine. I didn’t earn it.” Jon Mervis collected 20 years of records with customers who had purchased a diamond ring similar in color and clarity to the one found. Almost immediately after the story got to the press, people began calling to claim the ring.

Mervis began his search for the rightful owner by comparing his claimants’ certificates to the measurements and description of the stone that was found. Only one certificate had passed the test. The piece of evidence that confirmed the match of the certificate to the ring was that the matching certificate showed that the diamond was one of a limited edition diamonds produced in the year 2000 by the Washington DC Jeweler. If the found diamond was actually the same stone, then the diamond should contain the laser inscription, “Mervis 2000.” After examining the diamond under magnification the marking was indeed found on the stone and the match was made.

The Washington DC Jeweler has since been confronted with over a dozen other such cases of either lost or found diamond rings. Jon Mervis decided that since a diamond ring can be something very important and meaningful to a lady, he created an online Diamond Ring Lost and Found site.Â

Is Kelly Brook Finally Ready To Settle With Billy Zane For Life???

Thursday, July 17th, 2008

Although the relationship has been on and off for a while, Kelly Brook now seems to be making it pretty clear as she walks out in London last night with her on/off boyfriend, Billy Zane’s engagement ring.

Since her boyfriend had gotten back with her, Kelly Brook, 28, has been hesitant to wear her engagement ring, up until now.

As the model was leaving after dinner at The Ivy, she was full of bright smiles as she flashed her sparkling engagement ring worn on her left finger.

Brook was gleaming with happiness and felt very content and certain.

It is obvious that Brook was trying to send some sort of message as she walked out that night, knowing she will be the center of attention.

The scene of that night is surely going to spread some rumors of an official engagement to Billy Zane, who is 42.

After a long time apart from each other, since earlier this year, the couple rekindles their romance.

But, as Kelly works in Virginia on an upcoming US TV project, the couple has not been seeing each other as often.

It has been reported that while they were having this time of separation last month, Zane was caught trying to flirt with girls in an LA nightclub.

Kelly then decided to break up her engagement because she felt that at her age she was still too young to get married.

Trying to stay apart from each other only lasted a few weeks, as it appears the couple could not live without each other while they were photographed holding hands at a cafe in London.

In May, Kelly took a flight back to Cannes so that she could be with her man as he upheld his new movie, The Man Who Came Back. It was then that the couple announced they were officially back together again.

Celebrities Characterized by Their Engagement Rings

Thursday, June 19th, 2008

It seems as if engagement rings have become the new fashion for the celebrity world. It has turned into a Hollywood trend now for young celebrities, such as Eva Longoria Parker, Stacy “Fergie” Ferguson, Jessica Alba, Ellen Pompeo and Katherine Heigl, to find love. They have also very much fallen in love with their engagement ring.

The style and type of engagement ring a woman chooses significantly defines her. Jewelry experts describe an engagement ring as individual as the person who wears it. There are three most popular engagement rings worn by celebrities and each has their own definition as to what the style means.

Fancy-shaped diamonds are emerald, marquis, oval, pear and cushion shaped diamonds. Although round diamonds are undeniably the most acknowledged shape for engagement rings, fancy shaped diamonds have become an exception to some celebrities defining them as fashion forward people with distinctive style. Ellen Pompeo (emerald), Victoria Bekham ((marquis), Katherine Heigl (pear) and Eva Longoria Parker (emerald), are a number of celebrities with remarkably shaped engagement rings.

A vintage styled engagement ring is another uniquely designed ring, which is romantically and lavishly crafted. This particular design is definitely exclusive but not too hard to find. Cool metals such as palladium, platinum and white gold structure beautiful vintage styles. Vintage inspired rings describe a person as passionate, optimistic and hopelessly romantic. Such celebrities include Kate Walsh, Jennifer Love Hewitt and Christina Aguilera.

Brilliant colored diamonds make engagement rings appear more vibrant and vivid, identifying with the person’s happy and colorful time of getting engaged. Now diamonds come in almost every possible color, but are much more rare making them also much more expensive. However, small stones could also be designed to appear much larger and be catchier to the eye. Women with brilliant colored engagement rings want to attract attention are lively, energetic and pine for luxury. Heidi Klum, Brooke Mueller, and Rebecca Romijn definitely fall under this category, all having yellow engagement rings.

Engagement rings and wedding bands stand out as reminders of lasting love and devotion of a husband and wife. Some even get passed down through generations making the memory stronger and continuous.

As Stone Carats Get Bigger Engagement Bands Get Smaller

Monday, June 16th, 2008

The world of engagement rings has made a big turn in style. While rock sizes increase, engagement bands holding the diamonds, shrink. All that’s left is skinny loops of metal holding up huge stones.

The owner of David K. Jewelers from Los Angeles, states that in the last three years there has been a 60% increase of customer requests for bigger stones, such as three-carat diamonds. These stones are being paired on a platinum setting with hair-splitting widths of two millimeters compared to three-ten millimeters in the past.

David Gaudjeian from David K. Jewelers says, “The thicker, gaudier rings are out….Customers really want to show off the diamond and not cover up the finger.”

Blue Nile, the famous online jeweler claims that the four-and-six-prong platinum setting can hold a stone as big as twenty carats for their engagement rings. their engagement bands are made in such a way, which create an illusion of a small diamond having a very large appearance.

The average cost of an engagement ring nowadays is $5,400. What customers definitely pay for is the diamond, but most of the work is actually the setting and fitting of the diamond into the shank. having side stones set into a ring just adds to the difficult work, making it more complicated to set.

However, this delicate ornament does not fit for every bride-to-be. These types of jewelry tend to bend easily or even ruin the diamonds sometimes. having to fix the ring or diamond ends up costing customers a good fortune. Gaudjeian warns women that if they go to the gym and lift weights or are in active sports, such jewelry should not be worn.

Lindsay and Ronson Actually Hitting it Off?

Wednesday, May 28th, 2008

Lindsay Lohan is actively caught smooching her deejay gal pal Samantha Ronson although, this time it seems to be a bit more than just a smooch… maybe a wedding coming along! Rumor has it that the couple is engaged, whether it’s a joke or not. Having Ronson as Lohan’s sidekick for over a year, maybe Lindsay Lohan doesn’t mind being married to an openly gay person after all.

Leslie Sloane, Lindsay’a publicist disagreed with the reports and said that the women are not engaged and wont be following in the footsteps of Ellen DeGeneres and Portia De Rossi. Sloane was very much disappointed with the rumors and wrote in an email, “This is gross. She is not a bad girl. Leave her alone.”

Lohan’s father who is extremely set against her confirmed in an interview Tuesday fro Us Weekly that his daughter and Ronson are “more than friends” and continued by stating that the relationship is “evident to anyone with half a brain.” He later denies ever mentioning such  remarks.

Lohan’s image was said to be based as something “cute and sweet”and if she contributes to a bad girl image then it doesn’t seem like its going to be good for her career. Columnist, Hazlett from MSNBC.com Scoop says, “The farther she steps away from that, the less well she’s been received in the public and in the industry…”

Rumors of their engagement only spread to the U.S. and European tabloids once Lindsay was caught and photographed in a “steamy lip lock” action with Ronson at an A-list party.

Lindsay and Ronson’s relationship is enhanced when photos are taken by the British tabloids of Lindsay sporting a ring on her wedding finger and telling Cannes paparazzi she was engaged to Ronson.

If the wedding actually does come along, at least Lindsay will have some supporters, such as the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation. The director of the organization proudly “applauds anyone in the public eye who chooses to live their lives openly and with authenticity.”    Â
