Gemma Atkinson, model and actress, is now sporting a $166,000 engagement ring.

Daily Star had quoted a friend of the couple stating, ‘Gemma was thrilled when Marcus popped the question. He really is the love of her life and she’s sure they will be together forever. They are both very happy.’

The duo began dating in 2006, while Atkinson was still starring in Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks. In 2007, the two split for several months, while at the same time Bent, 30, was seen out with glamour model Danielle Lloyd. Though, by November 2007 the couple was seen back together again just before Atkinson flew to Australia to star in I’m A Celebrity.

While acting on the jungle reality show, Atkinson rapidly won over an army of male fans because of her curvaceous figure that was often displayed in bikinis.

For Atkinson, who claimed she didn’t want to be ‘tied down’ at an interview in OK! magazine earlier this year, the engagement seems to be quite a turnaround.

She stated, “I’ve never been one of those women who’ve thought about marriage and kids. I will get married but I don’t want to consider it until I’ve enjoyed my twenties and we’ve lived together for a while.”

The star also speaks of her love for the footballer, saying, “He’s like a rare diamond, once you’ve got then, you keep hold of them.

‘Marcus is very romantic - every day he does something nice for me. The other day we were staying at a hotel and Marcus checked out before me and wrote: ‘I love you’ on the mirror with soap.’  Â

The most essential occasion of their lives had taken place at their luxuriant Los Angeles home. The ceremony of Portia de Rossi and Ellen DeGeneres was very intimate, consisting of close family members of the brides. There was a total of nineteen people reported to attend the wedding. As part of the guest there were DeGeneres’ mother Betty and de Rossi’s mom, Margaret Rogers. Margaret Rogers was flown in from Australia to attend her daughter’s wedding. There were no other celebrities to attend the wedding ceremony.

Both brides wore Zac Posen and the rings, which were exchanged, were signed by Neil Lane. The couple exchanged handwritten vows. According to several reporters, an LA florist named Mark’s Garden adorned the flowers.

A spokesperson at the wedding had confirmed the happy occasion by saying, “Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi were married tonight in an intimate ceremony at their home in Los Angeles.”

Soon after the Supreme court of California permitted the marriages of gays, Portia was spotted sporting a marquis shaped three-carat pink diamond ring on her finger. Rob Patterson has finally proposed to Carmen Electra after being on friendly terms with her for the past eight years. Electra tells PEOPLE, “You have to stay connected and make an effort… We are taking it slow and have no wedding date yet.” she continues saying, “We connect on a lot of different levels.”

As for having children Electra tells the media, “Someday we will… Deep down i feel like I’m ready. But it’s a big commitment. I don’t know.”

Hager and his mother came to pick up the ring and while Hager’s mother snapped a few photo shots, Hager rattled on about his plans. On his way out of Sternheimer’s jewelry store, Hager was very polite and modest as to make sure to slip a thank you note on Jane’s desk.  Â
