Popping The Big Secret- Jenna Bush Engaged

Monday, May 12th, 2008

The secret was hard to keep but now that Jenna Bush is married people should know where her dazzling engagement ring was designed.

Henry Hager, now the husband of Jenna Bush was looking for an antique designed engagement ring for his future wife, something similar to his great- grandmother’s diamond ring.

Jane Sternheimer, owner and president of Charles Schwarzschild Inc. was lucky enough to have found out about the engagement before the question was popped to Jenna. Hager had come to her company for the ring. Jae Sternheimer says, “Henry had well considered ideas regarding the type of ring he wished to present: classic and conservative….. He wanted the center stone to be flanked with sapphires and the ring to be made in platinum.”

Not to waste much time, Sternheimer began making phone calls in search for matching sapphires. Sternheimer finally got the sapphires and had the ring ready to be picked up on August ninth, the day Hager had asked for it.

Hager and his mother came to pick up the ring and while Hager’s mother snapped a few photo shots, Hager rattled on about his plans. On his way out of Sternheimer’s jewelry store, Hager was very polite and modest as to make sure to slip a thank you note on Jane’s desk.  Â

Mariah Carey Engaged to Nick Canon by a Ring Proposed to His Ex-Fiance

Thursday, May 1st, 2008

Rumor has it that Nick Canon has proposed to Mariah Carey, whom he dated for no more than a few months now. Mariah Carey is thrilled with her engagement ring, proudly boasting it, until finding out that she has been given the same ring nick gave to his ex-fiance, Victoria’s Secret model, Selita Ebanks.

Mariah Carey is well known for being a born-diva, expecting only the best, and nothing less. Unless the ring came from a family heirloom, it is very offending to give a woman the same ring given to an ex-fianc, especially a music idol that has a status to maintain.

Will Mimi actually accept the marriage proposal after all?

When you think of a men proposing to a women, you always think the same thing; a man getting down on one knee, taking the ring box out of his jacket or pants pocket, opening it up, looking into the women’s eyes and saying “will you marry me.”

Yes that may be the safe conventional way to go, but why play it safe? why not shake it up a bit, with something fun and different, and so special, that she will never forget.

Growing up I always loved those Salerno butter cookies; you no the ones that are kinda of a flower shape with a hole in the middle. They were always so much fun to eat because as a little girl you can put them on your finger and pretend that they were engagement rings.

So with that in mind how about engagement ring cupcakes. You can bake or buy a cupcake and in the center put one of those Salerno butter cookies and use a marshmallow on the top to create the diamond.

Not only is this something fun, but I guarantee you that that special someone, who you are poppint the queshtion to will be blown away with the creativity and effort you went to, just to make that night a little more special and unforgettable.

Man Buys News Ad to Propose Marriage

Monday, January 14th, 2008

In an upper East Side restaurant sat Jason Lederman, 23, who took out an ad in the Sundays Daily News asking Matti Lieberman, 22, of Midwood, Brooklyn. “Matti, will you marry me?”.

Matti’s hand shot up over her mouth as a waiter handed her a copy of the NY Daily News, and surprise - to a stunned nod: “Yes.”

Jason slipped the diamonds marquis-set, white gold engagement ring onto her finger and a diamond bracelet - a traditional gift in Orthodox Jewish wedding proposals - onto her arm.

In an effort to keep her from seeing the ad until he was ready to pop the question, Lederman’s one-eighth-page ad ran only in yesterday’s Manhattan editions.

“Anticipation is key,” he said of his coup.

To do that, Lederman hired two actors and got them to approach the couple as they walked into a mandolin concert on E. 70th St.

“Are you the guy from the newspaper?” one of the actors asked Lederman, who, feigning ignorance, responded, “I don’t know what you mean.”

That left Lieberman, twisting her program all during the concert.

“Did he get arrested and not tell me?” Lieberman said she wondered as the music swelled, until the waiter in the upper East Side restaurant handed her the copy of the Daily News.

The only clue that Lederman was going to propose, Lieberman said, was that her mom - whom Lederman had told a week ago - suddenly became very interested in her vacation time.

“My mother was following me around with a calendar,” said Lieberman, a career counselor at Magen David Yeshiva High School in Bensonhurst.
